Black and white portrait

My work applies a design sensibility to the physical language of blacksmithing. Through forged metal, I construct forms that explore balance, structure, and interconnected relationships, where deliberate composition meets the raw forces of heat and pressure.

The surfaces retain evidence of their making. Hammer marks, joinery, and material transitions remain visible, recording the interaction between tool and material.

Compositions rely on restrained geometries, including lines, arcs, and intersecting planes arranged to create structural harmony. Individual elements interact through tension and balance, allowing the overall form to resolve into a unified whole.

A background in design informs the clarity and discipline of these forms. Proportion, rhythm, and negative space are considered as carefully as mass and material, enabling the work to move seamlessly between sculptural presence and structural composition.

Working in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I approach sculpture as both construction and refinement. Each piece emerges through a dialogue between intentional form and the inherent character of metal.
